I'm very happy.
Last week during a Masonic dinner, one of our brethren brought a guest who was exploring the possibility of becoming a Mason. This guest was of Japanese descent, and his wife is a Japanese National. We sat at the same table, and his wife was seated by my side.
Since she was obviously fluent in Japanese, I was able to practice what little I know and that opened doorways to even more conversation. I discovered that she was a recently certified Japanese Tea Ceremony Teacher and was in the process of building her student base.
Tomorrow, Monday, is my first trial class, and I'm certain that I will be her next student!
I'm so happy about this because I have wanted to learn the Japanese Tea Ceremony since I lived in the San Francisco Zen Center (1993). Finally, after all these years, it's happening AND by someone who is a Japanese National! Yay!
