Chile miner to run New York Marathon
NEW YORK (CBS) - One of the miners rescued from a shaft in Chile will be running the New York Marathon this weekend.

Edison Peña was invited just to watch but says he didn't want to just sit around, so he'll pin on a number and race.

The 34-year-old Peña ran three to six miles each day to keep fit, and to clear his mind while he was trapped underground, listening to Elvis Presley tunes on his iPod.

Peña, who earned the nickname "The Runner" from fellow miners for his daily jogs.

Chilean miner Edison Peña showed such humor
on the Letterman show. I have to admire his
spirit after the tramua of being trapped in the
    mine with 32 other men.
