Yes, The author is in fact Taggart King!, :-D
If they can truly be identified and if it is going to help me understand Reiki energies better, then I am very interested in the material! I have his book but no CD or DVD. I don't know what material you have! Thank you so much for the offer!!
Yeah, it certainly is interesting stuff he has. It's really good actually, personally i just went a different direction from then. That doesn't mean anything though, as everyone is entitled to follow what path they want.
i've got his full Original Usui Reiki Course, Shoden & Okuden, and Shinpiden. This includes manuals, instructions, audio cd & DVD of attunements & Reiju. We can hook up on skype maybe, or yahoo, they're most stable. The PDF's i'll email after i write this. You may as well have the full lot though. Taggart's been very kind and gave me permission to share it. I don't want to teach it though Hamsa. It's an important part of the course to give feedback to Taggart, though of course this is part of his service upon reciept of the fee. I guess if you've questions just contact me (if you don't talk to Taggart). I'm only interested in teaching Usui Shiki Ryoho though, so i'm kinda pushing my own comfort zone, hehe. You're a nice person, so it's cool to help.

So, you are saying there is differences in the energies produced by these symbols, yet you feel you don't 'need' those symbols?!!
Yeah, when i was doing the course, i definitely experienced this. Though, when i thought Reiki came in from the crown i expereinced that. And when i thought it came from the Seika Tanden i experienced that. Now when i feel it 'comes' from none, i experience that, hehe. This was important for me, but you're experience might be different, and very valid.
Re: Not needing the symbols. Yeah. If i use the symbols because i think they must be used, there's a 'want' getting in the way. Ego is involved. If i use the symbols just for the joy of using them, or, maybe a slight curiosity, i'm taking away some of that egoic obstacle. Imo, the symbols never leave us, once they are placed within us. why would they? an assumption is they are no longer there, only upon drawing them, though this is an assumption, not a fact. This begs the question, if they are always within us, and as i feel, activated once we intend Reiki, why do we even need to recite/draw them, why are we taught on down in lineage to do this? I feel this is the stage where we delve deeper into the profound nature of the symbols.
We've took away at least some of our assumed 'need' of them. They are active when we intend Reiki, yet we still will draw/recite them. It combines 3 spiritual aspects. Thought (intention), Word (reciting symbol name), and deed (drawing of symbol). Very important aspect of some religions is thought, word & deed. For me, this information (i know it's not secret) is the first major step on the realisation that Reiki is not a healing path, but more a spiritual path that of course promotes healing. Realisations like this change perception greatly, and this changes the effect of Reiki.
There's so much spirituality in the core concepts of Reiki.

I am under the impression that these different symbols 'have' different functions, so how are you able to reproduce their effect without the symbols, just by their names or sounds?
or
just by the thoughts & intentions?
This is a good question. It's why i moved away from this kind of stuff. Then, i could create the experience within me that felt the same as any of the symbols (energy). So i assumed i was choosing what symbol is used, with only intention. Perhaps it really is happening, (shrug). For me now, i experience a deeper well by the latter paragraphs

May be you know the meaning of each symbol deeply and that's why you tap into it successfully?
I don't know if i ever will know the meaning of each deeply,
. I was told i had barely scratched the surface, and i beleve that. I know his name is used a lot around here, but even someone like James, i'm guessing would say it's a never-ending journey.
Let me being to gather the stuff for you now.
warmest wishes
