    Shodun Empty Shodun

Post by Toma Sat Sep 26, 2009 3:16 am

Hello everyone, I have only posted here a couple of times, it was when this forum was just beginning.

    My question
Does anyone here know anything about a type of reiki called Shodun ?
I've never heard of it before but on CafeMom
someone said this Shodun is the oldest original form of Reiki

    Hi Toma

Never heard of Shodun as a style of Reiki but maybe they mean Shoden, the first teachings of Usui Reiki Ryoho and various Japanese styles of Reiki. It is roughly equivalent to Reiki 1 in Western Reiki.

Shodun is a Tibetean festival. Whether it's related to any form of Reiki, i dunno. Perhaps James can add something.

Some folks say shodan is the original level 1 grade.

    Take care

    Hello Colin

yes, I thought the poster might mean shoden also. tho' he says he is a Reiki master trained in the Shodun method, and says it is the oldest & original form of Reiki.
So I guess he doesn't mean shoden level.

I'm with Colin on this one - never heard of it Smile

'Shodun' could of course be a typo by the Reiki person in question [mehamil1], or else a poor transliteration by whomever created the style; however if its not, then this Reiki style is unlikely to have anything to do with Japan. 'dun' is not a Japanese word-sound

I suppose it could be another new 'Reiki-comes-from-Tibet' style?
