Right now the apartment that Bayardo (my other half) and I live in is too small for additional family members, but we will begin moving to a new place sometime in 2013, so until then it's no pets, but in the past when I have had pets they have contributed greatly to the overall healing atmosphere of my home... when clients were not allergic to them.
I absolutely love cats (like in this video that was shared with me earlier this morning
https://youtu.be/FavRPQkmTVg), and while I've never given a home to something quite so large, cats in my home seemed to really keep help keep a more energetic healing environment.
When my client identified themselves as a cat-lover, I warned them that if I kept the door to the treatment room that one of the cats would likely jump onto the treatment table, and a few cat-loving clients welcomed the cat-enhanced Reiki treatment.
There was a time in my past when I lived in a home (as a roommate) that had 10 cats... yeah, ten (that's not a typo). It was a spiritual household and others in the house practiced some form of hands-on healing as well that was based on shamanism. One time when I was being treated by my roommates, five others wanted to help (or just sleep on something warm and comfortable). One cat went to my throat (because he could not conveniently sleep on his preferred location which was my face), another curled up onto my heart area, another over my tummy, one in-between the legs directly at the root, and another in between my feet. About an hour later when the treatment ended all of us were given the "you don't really want us to wake up and move, do you?" looks, followed by a few meow's of complaint... but I felt a thousand times better after the treatment.
