Hello everyone.
During the last few years the Reiki Learning Lounge has grown to be the most successful Reiki forum freely available on the internet. When this healing project began, we were not certain where the best place to position the current terms of service was, or where to place signature guidelines. At the time, we chose to leave that information set as announcements or sticky's that would appear in the main area where people were most likely to visit.
That worked well during the first year and a half or so, but as Reiki members began to participate more frequently, the archive of really good Reiki discussions grew, and the new behavioral trait related to the internet known as "banner blindness" set in. "Banner blindness" simply means that a person visits a website and has become so conditioned to seeing advertisements that they no longer see them, and simply looks for the information they want to find. While the banner advertisements are at a minimum on the Reiki Learning Lounge, that concept applies to stickys and announcements that we created to hold our signature guidelines and terms of service.
During the last several months the administration team has repeated actions to help make members aware of our terms and other participation guidelines. Sometimes a post has been unexpectedly moved to a different category, and our concern is that action has caused concern of the member -- and that's given me reason to feel that it's time to improve the positioning of such information.
I've created a new category at the top of the forum titled "Administration and Read-Me's". During this week of June 13th, 2012, I'm going to be updating, revising, and re-positioning the informational posts within it so that the information is easier to find.
The information the new section will contain will include the following:
