To all those who celebrate, Happy Thanksgiving!

Nigel Lithgoe, the executive producer of "So You Think You Can Dance" an absolutely exceptional dance show, who comes from England, said it very well.

Even those who don't celebrate Thanksgiving as a holiday, can appreciate the holiday for bringing families together and for the thought of giving and showing thanks to those whom you love. I'm paraphrasing, but he said something to that effect.

    So again, Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

R.J..... We celebrate it in Canada on the 15th of October...

In the community where I grew up it was Halloween Oct 31st
It was a holy day plus if you never had much food during the
year, this was a time to celebrate the Harvest. Children would
dress up as ghosts/skelton's and go from one friend's house to
the next. joining in bobbing for apples, getting money from an
apple hanging on a string with hands behind your back. getting
a slice of apple pie that had hidden treasures baked into it.
Tables were laden-ed with nuts, pies, & fruit for visiting guests.
Almost every Christian home had a carved out turnip face with
a lit candle in their front window to guide the holy souls to
heaven. Children fired of many kinds of fire works depending on
what they could afford, most children lit sparklers. It was a
mixture of religion, fun, & thanks for our food.
