sayings within your circle of family/friends/other

Post by chi_solas on Thu Dec 03, 2009 1:49 am

My Great-grandfather use to say "The first day we fail to learn something new, is the first day we start getting stupid"
Alienprogeny. made this statement in one of his postings.
I thought what an interesting thought. I wondered how many
different sayings the RLL community can come up with that
was heard within your circle of family/friends.

    My father-inlaw would say. scratch
you put a beggar on a horse and he'll ride himself to death

I'm afraid my family was rather more prosaic. Their sayings usually related to practical things! The only one that comes to mind is "no better than she ought to be" when talking about a loose woman!

i remember one phrase of my babajee (guru)...

he said (translation) "all paths are like running water routes, that try to merge in one same ocean ultimately".

but the phrase which always holds me is "mann bheetar, mann murshid"

    (guru lives within us)

There is apparently an old Japanese waka which says something along similar lines. I don't have the actual waka but its message is:

"There are many paths up the mountain but the view of the moon from the top is the same."

I just read an interesting quote in Taggart King's newsletter in an great article about Oneness by Reiki Master Tina Shaw:

“Recognise that the very molecules that make up your body, the atoms that construct the molecules are traceable to the crucibles that were once the centres of high mass stars that exploded their chemically rich guts into the galaxy, enriching pristine gas clouds, with the chemistry of life. So we’re all connected to each other biologically, to the earth chemically, and to the rest of the universe atomically, that’s kind a cool, that makes me smile and I actually feel quite large at the end of that, it’s not that we are better than the universe, we are part of the universe, we’re in the universe and the universe is in us.”
Neil DeGrasse Tyson, an Astrophysicist for the American Museum of Natural History

I believe Mikao Usui came to the same conclusion when he awoke from his experience on Mount Kurama.

You can read the whole article about Oneness here (if you scroll down past the adverts!):

I just got my Reiki II last month. Smile  My kids are very familiar with Reiki and think they can do it, too.  Two years ago when my boy was three, he was trying to Reiki every dog we met in the park and he and my daughter give me Reiki, charge things with Reiki, and give their parakeets Reiki.  lol  Elias has stopped giving the dogs "rake rake" pretty much and I wish I had a picture of him giving Reiki to this dog when sitting was taller than my boy standing.  It was too cute.

thats an interesting situation Stardust Smile

my son aged around 7 now, tries to copy me and 'gives reiki' to anybody he comes across in pain... (like father, like son, Smile )....

y'day i asked him to give me reiki... he placed hands on my head, and i found energy in his hands... my guess is that he gives his energy in the process, as kids of age upto 6 or 7 are believed to be still open energetically.. it is after that age, that their energy abilities go latent gradually.....

while he is not in reiki, i was thinking if i should initiate him to level one ?

thats a question, i m thinking about for some days... one way, it is all good to initiate him, so that he starts his reiki activities from that early age, the other thought : he is not mature enough to find how big gift he'd be receiving when initiated to level one... so he might waste the gift ?

i mean, is it a ripe time to initiate him to reiki ?? (please answer this question in light of your vast experiences, talking to all here Smile )

the other thought is that i teach him quantum touch ( and i find it more convincing to myself)... i gave him initial guidance that how to start feeling sensations in his finger (to start with) and he gives good descriptions of the feeling... it might be that i will teach him how to sweep feelings from toe till head gradually...

what'd you say, is the best option for me ??bit confused i am...

Hi,Your son sounds so cute.  I think it's fantastic our kids are interested in these sort of things.I think that since you have QT at your fingertips and have already introduced a little of it to your son that maybe you should continue with that and see how he handles it.  If he does well with it and seems mature enough, move onto Reiki.  Sounds like a plan.  He's lucky to have you to guide him.I, too, feel energy from my daughter's hands.  My daughter can find my area of pain in no time flat without me telling her anything (my pain moves to different place all the time).  She says she feels it by warmth and vibrations.  I have had pain relief after she has "reiki'ed" me.  She's eight years old and my son is five years old BTW.Good luck on what you decide with your son.  Let us know what you decide.  I'm really interested.
