Guidelines for using reiki Empty Guidelines for using reiki

Post by Samadhi Fri Jan 28, 2011 8:54 pm

    Hi all,

I have just discovered the power of reiki and it is truly a blessing and a gift.

    With power though, comes responsibility.

So I have questions upon the guidelines of using the reiki energy.

Basically I am just wondering are there any specific cautions or general guidelines one should follow when using reiki energy.

For example, is it possible to 'overuse' energy? Are there limits to how much should be used, or to the size of the subject, which one is sending the reiki towards?

What about using reiki on people without permission?

    Thanks for any help!

    welcome Samadhi,

    IMO Reiki energy can never
be overused. I find that it
    brings balance/harmony to all
    situations. Like an electric
light bulb when you turn it on
energy happens even if you do not
turn it off the light is there
for others to benefit from. Guidelines for using reiki 158903

Some folks already send Reiki to the
earth and that would include the ocean Arrow
Give it a try and see what happens. sunny

    Hi Samadhi,
    good questions.

Reiki is safe and will not harm anyone, yourself included.
It's been my experience (16 years), that I have never picked up negative energies from my clients nor taken on their pain.

It is common courtesy to ask someone if you may touch them. Otherwise, they may
wonder what your doing and may think your going to harm them.
Ask if you may try a Japanese healing technique called Reiki with them.
Also ask if they are ok with light physical touch and the person is fully clothed. If they are an abuse survivor the answer may be NO. Then you would use the hands off method.

A Reiki session/treatment can last anywhere from a few seconds to many hours. It all depends on the sensations your hands are telling you.
The energy source is unlimited and can be used as often as needed.

Enjoy working with Reiki, it is a wonderful thing to have. Smile

I am new to this blog and new to Reiki. Since being trained Reiki 1 a month ago. I have done over 50 full treatments. I have had one experience releasing negative energy and 3 experiences where I had terrible head aches. I contacted my Reiki Master not knowing how to handle either of these two things and was given very specific tasks and they boths things resolved. To me, this just reaffirms that your choice in Reiki Masters is of utmost importance as they are your "technical support" as you journey through your practice. Blessings

    hi there...

warm welcome to ever amazing and blessing world of reiki.

the way you are exploring through your reiki sessions, is really very good. during an reiki session, it is not just healing of the client/receipient, but there is a lot of healing taking place of practitioner himself/herself... in the end, it is always beneficial no matter how 'un-comfortable' you may get some feelings during the sessions. keep going, keep sharing, keep spreading your wisdom Smile

    take care
