Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai

Hi Everyone, I am researching to begin to put together a Reiki 1 manual, but as I do so I become more and more confused....(which, being honest, I find getting confused an easy task to achieve!!! )

I wondered if anyone could tell me if the "Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai", is the same thing as the "Usui Shiki Reiki Ryoho". And if so why do they get give two different titles??

lol I was on a website and it mentioned the Usui Shiki Reiki Ryoho as the 'society' that was formed by Usui's students. This confused me as I was on the understanding that this was known as the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai.
In actual fact, according to google Usui Shiki Reiki Ryoho is more a style of training, or method of Reiki.

The correct title for the group is Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai.
Did that make sense!!!????

Good to hear you are writing you own Reiki manual

Yes, Google can indeed be your friend (sometimes!) but as you discovered can also lead to great confusion.

For example if someone who wanted to know about the orgins of the Reiki system Googled and went through many of the resulting pages, they would read that Reiki is an ancient healing system, which was entrusted to the dolphins and whales by grey aliens who visited our earth from the Pleiades, millions of years ago. From the dolphins it was passed on to the Lemurian race and in turn to the Atlanteans, some of whom migrated to Shangri-La and passed it onto the Ancient Tibetans. It then became hidden until it was re-discovered in a sacred tantra by a Japanese Christian Minister/Doctor/Tendai/Shingon Buddhist/Monk/Lay Priest/Martial Artist/Fortune Teller called Mikao Usui in the 18th, 19th or 20th century!

Just for extra clarification: the word "Gakkai" is usually translated as Society or Organization or Group. The word "Shiki" can be translated as Style, System or Method.

Reiki, as in Usui's system, can be translated as 'Universal Life Force', 'God's Wisdom', 'Higher Wisdom', 'Spiritual Energy' or 'Spirit in Action' depending in which website you choose.

Ryoho is usually translated as Healing Method.

And, most often, the word Reiki is not used in the name of style of Reiki known as Usui Shiki Ryoho.

So:
Usui Shiki Ryoho = Usui Style Healing Method
Usui Reiki Ryoho = Usui Reiki Healing Method
Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai = Usui's Reiki Healing Method Society

According to some sources the full title of Usui's System is:
Shin Shin Kaizen Usui Reiki Ryoho = Usui's Reiki Healing Method to Improve Your Mind and Body.

Does that make sense ??

Thank you Colin! It can get you very confused can't it!! Obviuosly I knew about the 'Gakkai' or society from my training with you, so when I was on a web page and it was that of quite a well known person, my interpretation was that Usui Shiki Reiki Ryoho was used in context to name the society. Hence why I wondered if it was another way of saying it.

Which is why I tend to stay away from lots of books as they just confuse me even more...and I like to keep it simple !!

We know that, when speaking about the system, Takata sensei commonly used the name "Usui Shiki Ryoho", though on occasion also used the name "Usui Reiki Ryoho"

I suppose "Usui Shiki Reiki Ryoho" could be some new hybrid style? (I wonder if anyone has trademarked it yet )

Nnnnooo !! I am starting to get confused again with all this talk of grey aliens, blue aliens, or are we on about dolphins !!!!
And if Usui Shiki Reiki Ryoho is going to be a new 'trademarked' hybrid style, what are going to be the slight differences between that and Usui Reiki Ryoho???!!
I think I am going to regret that question as I may get even more confused!! Infact I bet I could google it and confuse myself greatly xx

I think Usui Shiki Reiki Ryoho would have to follow the norm, and claim to be THE original style. A Japanese connection is needed of course (to authenticate), so, i can use my penpal list, if that helps?

Actually, James, you may be right. It looks like I was confusing the greys with the blues (or maybe they are blue-grey? ) because it turns out the greys are not from the Pleiades but 3 other star systems.

Here is some real information about the greys (it must be real because I found in through Google!)

Also, there appears to be three types of "Greys", each of which claiming to be from different solar systems: There are the ones from the Zeta Reticuli 2 star system, the ones from the Orion star system, and the ones from the Bellatrix star system. Whether these are three different, simliar species or that two of them are colonies of the original star system, no one knows.

I dont understand how we got onto Aliens from the origional question, but this is helping my Reiki Manual come along great thanks guys!
The opening section begins with the History of Reiki, and dont worry, it's all in there about how Reiki was brought by the Aliens to the Dolphins and redescovered in the 16th century!! (My own interpretation )

Now if I have got anything confused........!!!!!! or wrong .....I am sure you will all be the first to let me know.
Its all madness! But I am off now to Google Greys or is that the Blues, as I am now intrigued!!
