If a client desires a diagnosis from a licensed physician, chiropractor or acupuncture practitioner, or services from a physician, chiropractor, nurse, osteopath, physical therapist, dietitian, nutritionist, acupuncture practitioner, athletic trainer or any other type of health care provider, the client may seek such services at any time.

Interesting Question. Here in Minnesota, Reiki is not really recognized as medical care on the state level. Some hospitals allow Reiki practitioners to volunteer though. The Meta Institute works a bit like Rand's institute in Michigan, in that they have gotten the Nurses Union or whatever the organization is to allow Reiki classes to officially count towards Continuing Education Units.
As such, the only way I can see someone using Insurance is to actually use the paid in HSA or Flex accounts that some have as part of their insurance policy. But unless you are also a massage therapist or Naturopathic Doctor or accupuncturist, you can't bill insurance. Sure, along with your client, you could lie and say that you did some body work code or other (my cranial sacral practitioner does this, but she is also licensed as a massage therapist.)
If they come investigate, you could be screwed on the HSA or Flex accounts.
Here is what us practioners have to provide clients in Minnesota.
