Hi Jatin, my name is Tiffany.
I'm so pleased that you put such care and research into choosing your Reiki teacher. So many people don't.
When you received your attainment (class) your teacher altered the energy anatomy of you to go from not being able to fully receive the Reiki frequency, to being able to fully receive the Reiki frequency. It's why people call it an "attunement". Because it's like tuning a radio to a radio station. Before it didn't get the station, but when you move the dial to the right frequency, the frequency can now transmit through the radio. This alteration to your energy anatomy is a big deal, and as you might imagine can take some time to adjust and should be done by someone you trust completely. Someone with awareness and control that feels good to you.
One of the amazing and unique characteristics of Reiki is that it is a closed, safe, system. By this I mean that when you do Reiki (without adding anything) you do not have to worry about picking up energy, entities or anything else from anyone. Equally, you don't have to worry about putting anything of your own into anyone else. This is why it is such a powerful foundation for new healers and for self-care, because it can't be broken and it is completely safe. However, and this is a big however, in order for this to be true, it is crucial to not work on anyone other than yourself for 21 days after your attunement.
Let me say more about this.....for the first 21 days after your attunment your energy body is like the top of a baby's head. the soft spot or frontinel. Do you know anything about that? the skull of newborns is open and it takes time for the bones to fuse together at the crown. Your energy body is like that for 21 days - open. During that time you can easily pick up and transmit "stuff". After the 21 days, you will close and be solid and safe.
Also during those 21 days you can deepen the impact of your attunement by doing your self-care for 10-15 minutes every day. like the openness, once that time is done, the window of opportunity for this is also over.
So. The bad experiences you are reading about, they are coming from people who did not observe this 21 day experience and as a result, all kinds of messy are happening with them, their students and their clients. It's what, as you observed, is hurting some of the lineages. Another possibility is that people without control over their energy are doing more than Reiki, but without control, and letting other things through that if they knew about and understood, they would not want.
In term of you specifically, you seem like someone who is very interested in research. So I would start with the book Understanding Reiki: From Self-cafre to Energy Medicine by Chyna Honey. It will go through what I just said as well as other specific and helpful information about Reiki. If you have been working on anyone else and are still within your 21 days, I would stop. Just work on you. If you are feeling anything negative, know that you can use Reiki to "drench" it out of you. Use your self-care to detox and boost you. It will work. This is an adjustment period and I've seen people get flu, irritable, bliss state, insomnia, etc. - just about the full range. So try not to focus too hard on any one thing, including what you feel or don't feel. Just flow and keep using your Reiki and keep your eye on the bigger picture, knowing that you've done something big and let it unfold.
If, after you've finished your 21 days, you still feel negative or don't feel the affects, that is the time to take a step back and decide what to do next. But until then, I say keep focused on you, get the book to answer some questions and give you a great context, and keep allowing yourself to relax and adjust.
Hope that helps, - Tiffany
