    The History of Reiki

Reiki was developed in the heart of mainland China by a peasant farmer named Woo Chung in 1836. Within just 4 years, Chung's Amazing Reiki System was being practiced by thousands of people. By 1845, Reiki had become known and practiced by nearly 30% of all Chinese and Chung's Amazing Reiki booths collected thousands of curious onlookers in all of China's circuses and bazaars...

    Excellent story, James! Laughing

    Almost as good as http://www.amazon.co.uk/Reiki-Man-Dominic-C-James/dp/1846944139#_

which is actually a very good read but somewhat confuses the general public by stating as an Author's Note at the beginning of the book:

...There are four main symbols used in Traditional Usui Reiki, with a total of 22 in use in other forms of the art. It is said that another 300 symbols exist, and that they are hidden in a temple [?Hon-Sha-Ze-Sho-Nen temple?] situated in either Tibet or India. The symbols will only be released by the monks that guard them when the human race is ready. Nobody knows what these symbols are or what they do. Until they are released we can only speculate.

...and speculate he does! Interestingly there is a brown leather notebook in this story too that has a Reiki symbol on it. There is also a mysterious wooden box that has all 300 symbols on it that several people (not unsurprisingly) will do anything to get their hands on!

Think Dan Brown meets Reiki! Smile

well, of course, back in 2005, Dan Brown's own cousin: Jan Frown had a similar idea...
