This post was inspired by an email I got from someone who had done their Reiki 1 in the UK over 10 years ago and had not done much with it since then. Now they have moved to Australia and the time feels right to get back into it and progress to Reiki 2. They wanted some suggestions as to how they could kickstart their Reiki practice again so they could feel ready to take Reiki 2 if the opportunity arose. I thought that if any of you are in the same boat, you may like to read my advice:
I think that the best way to kickstart your Reiki is by getting your hands on and actually practicing it regularly – on yourself, every day if possible, and on as many others as opportunity allows!
This is what, in my opinion, gives you the confidence and experience to want to take things further.
The other very important thing is daily recitation of the Five Reiki Precepts. Often this is not emphasized nearly enough in Reiki 1 courses (and probably not even mentioned again in the other levels) but it is really THE foundation of the Reiki system and can have a very positive effect on your life and wellbeing, spiritually mentally, emotionally and physically.
They are taught for a reason and that reason is to work on a person’s awareness of how they think, speak and act, which has the effect of bringing to mind the precepts when they are needed to help maintain or restore a state of peace and harmony within. This is healing with ‘Rei’ which complements the healing with ‘ki’, the hands on practice.
Just my thoughts - your ideas may vary!
