Healing friends in Spirit

Hello all......a question to everyone practising Reiki. what has been your experience of 'healing friends in spirit' during your treatments ???

I've always felt the presence of 'friends in spirit' when I step into that sacred space and offer healing energies to another. And many clients have said that they have felt more than one set of hands on them during the treatments. I'm curious about other reiki practitioner's experiences regarding this. I know it's not uncommon, but I want to know just how common it is.

I'm offering Reiki far more lately than I have been doing for a couple of years. Now that I am working full time as a holistic therapist and have a holistic centre from which to offer treatments my reiki practice is really building up. Infact I am very pleasantly surprised at how popular Reiki is.

Anyway......last night I had a Reiki session with a lovely lady who has received reiki from me a few times in the past. Last night she told me that when ever she receives Reiki from /through me, she always feels the presence of another set of hands on her body at the opposite side to where my physical hands are. When my hands are on her head she feels another set of hands on her feet, when I am at her feet she feels another set of hands on her head....when I have my hands on her left leg, she feels another set of hands on her right leg......etc.

I NEVER ceased to be amazed by people's experiences during Reiki, this is why I love it so much. My own experiences during treatments are changing quite dramatically aswell. Nothing I'm ready to share here, but there is so much going on at a deep spiritual level for me at the moment.

A few weeks ago a lady came to see me for some Reiki, turns out she was a healer and medium herself!! she told me a few things which blew my mind a bit. and she also mentioned my ' healing friends in Spirit' but she called them 'guides'....I've never used that term in regards to my healing friends.

Anyway.....what if any has been your clients experience of feeling the presence of unseen healing helpers during their treatments ??

I have had clients experience
healing hands in other parts of 
their body that I was not working 
on 

I feel that, when we facilitate Reiki 
sessions, the client is opening up 
blocked energies that only the client 
has control over.

you know Bridgette, the more I offer Reiki the more I realise I have absolutely no idea what so ever what is going on for them. When I 'step into' that healing space I always ask that they receive Reiki for their greatest good and highest outcome...I know many of us have that intent. But I never use the words opening up blocked energies or anything like that. I say that it is the recipient who draws in Reiki and their own innate intelligence uses it in a way that is most appropriate for them at that time. But in truth there is a whole lot of stuff going on that is completely beyond our understanding. It's not just 'healing energies' that we are helping to make available to the recipient. We are quite literally 'stepping into a beautiful spiritual dimension' where potential and possibilities are infinite.

I am constantly blown away by people's experiences.

You say that your clients have mentioned feeling other healing hands on them besides your own. Have you yourself been aware of your spiritual healing friends?

You say that your clients have mentioned feeling other healing hands on them besides your own. Have you yourself been aware of your spiritual healing friends?

Folks heal themselves as we
facilitate their Reiki sessions.
It may take time for them to
work through issues that get
buried/stuck during their busy
life routines. They may have
forgotten them or are aware
but not ready to share nor do
they have to share their private,
personal health, details. I had a
client who was so sensitive to
touch I had to not be in her space
during a session. If it got too over
whelming she let me know "enough"
We both knew that once the energies
start moving they do not stop when a
session is over

I do not invite guides etc into my Reiki
space. I do encourage recipients to
relax by going to a special place were they
have felt love & peace. Music is available
if a client wants it I play at the softest tone.

you do not invite guides into your reiki space, and yet your clients have felt more sets of hands on them than yours. I'm wondering just how common this experience is. and by your response to my question i'm guessing you are not aware of any 'unseen healing helpers'...or are you aware of their presence even though you don't consciously invite them in?

But I am also aware of extra help. about 18 years ago when I was on a healer development course working with case studies, one of my case studies was a very unwell gentleman...as I was working with him I had an incredible spiritual experience in which I felt a beautiful feminine presence 'step into me'.......our energies became one and I was able to continue with the healing in a very loving and natural way....It's quite difficult to put that experience into words but it was very very beautiful.

the healer and medium who came to see me a couple of weeks ago mentioned something VERY specific which made me realise that this beautiful feminine presence is still working through me as I work.


I know lots of us say we are not into the idea of 'guides' or 'unseen healing helpers' as a part of Reiki and yet its seems that is exactly what is happening. Perhaps some practitioners feel it is the recipient who has initiated the help of their own 'unseen healing helpers'. but this isn't my experience. I definitely have a very specific 'crew' on board my reiki ship! ahaha

I feel you are capable of inviting spirits/guides.
I personally believe what ever works for you is
OK. AS you practice you will develop your own
personal style.

That was a beautiful experience that you had. I 
don't recall ever having one like that. ULFE has 
been around since the beginning of time. Usui
had a wonderful ULFE experience and was able 
to give it a name and develop a system that 
brought  awareness to this dormant engery that
we all have. I'm thankful that I was introduced
to this self healing system

when I decided to 'learn' reiki after having practised spiritual healing for a few years...I inwardly spoke to my 'friends in spirit' and said I hoped they didn't feel like I was being disloyal to them and my current way of practising healing as I was about to 'learn' reiki......then I had another incredible experience in which I felt many many hands underneath me and they started lifting me into this beautiful light. Waves and waves of light and bliss poured over and rolled me and filled my entire being with the most beautiful divine love, every molecule in my being vibrated and pulsated and hummed at this love frequency.....my heart expanded so much I thought it was going to explode!! aha...tears rolled continuously down my cheeks. It was a sure indication that I was being supported and guided towards Reiki. After that incredibly beautiful experience, I created some leaftlets for my holistic therapies and called my practice 'Waves of Bliss'....

I didn't use many of those leaflets because after doing a little research I realised there were quite a few porn sites and sites and businesses promoting products for orgasm enhancement that used the same term!!! ahaha

But in actual fact what I experienced was like a cosmic orgasm!! it was absolutely incredible and beautiful and all those wonderful adjectives that we would wish for in a deep spiritual experience.


Now I am focusing on my 'healing vocation' more than I have been for a few years, i'm starting to have powerful spiritual experiences again. I feel like I have been wondering around in the wasteland a bit the last couple of years and now I'm finally returning home.....

Sounds like you  entered a 
sharman  experience.

A level of spirtitual height
that not everyone has 
experienced or called upon.


Maybe you could play around 
with Waves of Bliss until you
get a name change that you can 
live with, even if you chose to use
a celtic version. waves of ???

well i'm not so sure I would call that a shamanic experience...but it was certainly a deeply spiritual and beautiful one.

I've had one or two quite beautiful and powerful experiences over the years. One which I would definitely consider to be ' shamanic' was when I connected deeply with the energy that was running from the earth and up through the roots of a huge tree we used to have in our back garden. I've been doing quite a particular 'rainbow' meditation for years..in which I draw up earth energy through the lower three energy centres and draw down 'cosmic/universal' energy which I bring in through the upper energy centres..these energies then 'meld' at my heart centre and flow out from there or down through my arms and out of my hands. I play around with it but it's basically a chakra meditation using the corresponding colours as energy.

anyway......I had been connecting with earth energy in my back garden and I became aware of the energy coming up from the earth and through the roots of the tree.....I literally became the energy that was running through the tree and could feel myself spread out to the very tips of the leaves....and then beyond as I radiated beyond the tree I connected with a buzzard that was spiralling on the thermals at the back of the house..and suddenly I somehow became the 'consciousness' of the buzzard and I was looking at the world below through the eyes of the buzzard. But it felt different from being the 'energy' running through the tree, I didn't feel like I was 'energy' inside the buzzard, but I actually felt like I was the buzzard itself !! WILD experience!! ahaha... I definately consider that episode to be shamanic....

I love these type of experiences, life really is quite wonderful and mysterious! My dreams can be quite wonderful too. Years ago I had a very beautiful dream about crystals skulls...it was a beautiful dream where I was 'observing' a healing taking place within a crystal healing chamber and the skulls played a significant roll!...I hadn't dreamed about the skulls in years and then a few weeks ago I had a dream about a little green crystal skull.....so I did a bit of searching around the internet looking for little green skulls......I came across a couple of teachers of crystal therapy....and felt very drawn to two teachers, one was way up in the north of Scotland and the other was in Manchester,
( Manchester is much closer to me) so next weekend I'm off to do some training in crystal healing....again I have felt very much 'encouraged' to do this...

There is just so much going on at the moment I seem to be going through massive transformations at every level of being. and the amount of energy pouring through me some nights, is incredible!..It's beautiflul healing energy, but some nights its is so 'bright and colourful' I just can't get to sleep because I see it. OOh it's all happening!

as for playing around with the words ...... i'll figure that one out...thanks for the encouragement
