Well I'm no fan of RC church or priests, but one of them said somethign this morning that made me think - perhaps someone Out There was reading this forum...

He said something like "I'm going to tell you a story. Now I think all stories are true, and that some of them actually happened!"

Which gives me a different perspective on the stories about Reiki I was struggling with.

A person's interpretation doesn't make some thing actually be that way.

It makes their expereince of it be that way, via their perception.

This can be quite different to what actually is.

But as I've already said on this site, we see things are we are. I don't think there is any such thing as objective truth, merely different viewpoints of physical reality.

For sure, we see things as we are. Not as it actually is neccessarily.

yeah, and i think i'd pointed out that when you jump up, you come down, for instance. Smile.

A person whom says to you & I "when i jump up, i don't come down", what you gonna think about that? that it's showing there's different viewspoints of reality?

Or, if i shot myself in the head, that's gonna be healthy for me, just cause i have that current viewpoint?

What's happening in our chat Chris, is there's a mix-up about philosophy, Smile.

Objectivity, is an objective fact that is true independant of the human mind.

A subjective fact is something that exists under the interpretation of ourselves, or places, etc. It's this that it looks like you're speaking of, Smile.

One doesn't negate the existence of the other though.

    Take care

So, the "subjective fact" is the "all stories are true" part. The "objective fact" is the "some of them actually happened" part! Both are facts.
