When reviewing my Reiki brochure
I took the word complementary out
of the written text.
There has been much discussion around
Takata's teaching and I realized that
the buzz word "Complementary Reiki" does
a dis-service to what Reiki is all about.
It is more than complementary. This word
was introduced to me as a way not to
offend the medical profession.
Have we as Reiki practitioners tweaked
how we present Reiki so it can be accepted
into the mainstream, or is Takata the only
one guilty of, adapting to meet how Reiki
will be accepted into the local community
licensing laws.
How do Reiki practitioners talk when giving
free Reiki services within the medical main
-strean. Do we honestly talk about the healing
power of Reiki or do we still refer to it as
complementary.
