Hi Mike
Yes, I have met Pamela Miles and could heartily recommend her as a Reiki teacher! She teaches from a very down-to-earth viewpoint which enables her to approach medical professionals and Reiki practice in a very professional, credible way. She has instigated several hospital-based Reiki programs and taken part in several Reiki research studies. She teaches Usui Shiki Ryoho style (i.e. as Hawayo Takata, the lady who introduced Reiki to the West) taught.
Another Reiki Teacher in the NY area (Westchester, I believe) is Ginny Mackles. Ginny teaches a more traditional Japanese approach to Reiki practice. She has a lovely CD, The Reiki Journey, that contains some Reiki meditations and waka poetry. Another lovely person!
Although teaching from slightly different approaches both these teachers are very traditional and therefore would not include kundalini (or chakras) as part of their courses because they are not part of the original Reiki teachings. However, Pamela is also an experienced Yoga practitioner and does have experience of such things.
Good luck in find your Reiki teacher!
