Here is an interview with Mary McFadyen, who was initiated as a master by Takata in 1980. It is a long interview, but interesting. The original interview was in German and published in Reiki Magazin, an English version was also published in Reiki Magazine International.

Great interview, thanks..my question: as a new practitioner, how can I tell whether I'm getting "true" reiki from my RMT or some altered version? Her lineage seems solid, but I don't know enough yet to discern..

Reiki is just the name of
the natural healing system
that has been altered. No
one can alter the Universal
Life energy that all Reiki
practitioners use.
