Simplified distnction between Reiju & Denju? Empty Simplified distnction between Reiju & Denju?

Is it possible to, at least in grosser terms, distinquish between
reiju and denju by saying Reiju uses no symbols during the process?

I never really paid this topic much thought until a few moments ago!

    hi moore!

Reiju is a spiritual gift, an acumalted expereince, that builds upon each one. In Reiki, it's providing an essence of the ability to experience Reiki. opinions can be divided on whether it's temporary or permanent.

Denju is used often to indicate the widely known Takata style attunements that are said to be more longer lasting. Denju actually is more than attunemnts, well it is and it isn't. Denju means the complete teachings, but, imo, the complete teachings are taught in the principles & the attunements. the symbols holding more teachings than prob any of us realise. Smile.

    No Smile

Some forms of reiju don't use symbols - some do.

for example, here are a couple of examples of reiju with symbols

    Milarepa,

Just to see if i understood you correctly...

Denju is the actual energetic opening the teacher does on the student, and the Reiju is the spiritual experience they share during the opening process?

    Rlei ki,
Do you know how there came to be both symbol and non-symbol openings?
I used to be a student of Taggart King, taking Shoden for the sake of curiosty with him. His manual stated that attunements through hayashi were symbol based as he never recieved full knowledge transmission (Menkyo Kaiden) from Usui before he passed on. His other long term students learned the non-symbol version as he was able to pass that on before he passed away. Is there any accuracy in this or did someone misunderstand something somewhere?

    hiya moore,
Denju is complete teachings, this is full initiation, which includes attunements, principles, and all other techniques, etc. not just the attunement.

Reiju is similar to a denju attunement in the respect it opens up the ability to expereince Reiki.

    hi Moore Smile

    sharing another aspect :

Reiju is direct transmission or spiritual empowerment from a high person like Usui Sensei while enjoying the benefits of his physical/spiritual presence.

Wthin Denju, symbols IMO play the role he did Laughing

Withing mystic systems, a guru will not 'hand over' the student some ability 'permanently' untill either he (guru) sees he is going to pass away soon, or if he (guru) sees that the disciple is now ready to to pass on to the next teacher!

in a way initiatory process can be considered as a substitute of Usui's presence, although this shelves the symbols to such heights that many of us would frown at the mere thought of it ! Smile

    take care
