Reiki & Energy Cleansing With White Sage -- would you like to Critique?

Hi Everyone!

I am going to be giving a talk to San Diego Reiki Corps. It will be about 40 people who are all Reiki people.

Here is my presentation outline. I thought some of you wise people may have some comments or suggestions and I would be grateful for your feedback.

White Sage Energy Cleansing For Reiki Practice & More
This presentation consists of three parts- a welcome, providing information about White Sage Cleansing for Reiki, and a process inviting everyone to experience smudging and being smudged with White Sage. Handouts for using various plants will be provided as take-home reference.
Prep – Smudging the room before people arrive, laying out Energy Cleansing products for people to take a look at and smell before we start.

Introduction - Welcome – Thank you all for taking your time to come out here.
Appreciation for taking the time to come, and a general survey of whereabouts in San Diego people are from. Is everyone a Reiki Practitioner? Raise hands.
How many of you wash your hands? How many of you shower on a regular basis? (hopefully laughter) We all understand the importance of physical cleansing; showering, handwashing, etc. We are also familiar with the Reiki Principles, which promote clean thoughts. Energetic hygiene is also important, and there are a number of plants in the Southern California area that are beneficial to Reiki practice and energetic cleansing.
Information: What is Energetic Cleansing – demonstrating White Sage smudge bundles. A note on picking white sage with reverence in a way that encourages the plant to grow and not kill it.
When can we use Energetic cleansing? Who can use it? The answer is everyone – we all know there are times when tension is high, when thoughts are cloudy, when promoting a peaceful atmosphere Is important – What are some examples of these times? (answers – teachers can smudge with white sage before students enter the classroom, real estate agents find that smudging before showing a house makes the energy of the house more appealing to buyers, which means the house will sell faster; to soothe road rage; to set up a creative space before sewing or painting, when studying; when going to sleep, and of course, to set up the Reiki area – smudging the room before a treatment or distance reiki session. )
Process: How do we use energetic cleansing? Get a volunteer to come up to the front of the room and be smudged as an example, then Gather the group into a circle or into small circles, and each person takes a turn to smudge the person to their right, and being smudged themselves.

Some Ideas: It all depends on the time (how much time do you have) and the level of practise and background of the participants...

Before actually starting with the smudging you could advise them to pay attention to their Body, Emotions, Mind. Can be within a short grounding and centering Meditation or with means of a pendulum and a bodychart or as a partner exercise with hands scanning the aura (time ...). And of course, pay attention to changes during and after the smudging.
If they are skilled, you could also mention the technique to send Reiki with Breath and Eye and direct the spiritual energy of the plant to areas of need during the smudging.
Plus the way to work directly with the Spirit of the Plant in a more schamanic way; they can build a relationship with the spirit with the help of the Reiki 2 Symbols.

I like your idea of encouraging them to feel the difference between before and after white sage.

We have only 40 minutes this time but perhaps some of them will be interested in going farther because you're right; there could be a whole workshop!
