    Hi All

Those of you with an interest in historical aspects of Reiki may be interested to know that I am this week's guest blogger on Pamela Mile's website Smile

You can read the first part of my article about the different ways of writing the word Reiki, and their significance, here:

Here is the second, and final, part of my article on Pamela Miles's blog, which includes a deep interpretation of the characters used to write the word 'Reiki' in Japanese:

Interesting to read, Colin. I still have to read part 1 now! What do you think of the Chinese roots of the kanji? I mean, would Reiki have more Chinese connotations than the Chinese kanji roots? I am not a specialist at all in Japanese or Chinese or their scripture!

I like the idea that Reiki is written or depicted as a medicin man/woman between rain from above and rice from the earth!

    Idea
Having now read part 1 I understand better about what you mean by Japanese Kanji / pictograms deriving from Chinese...

Here is the link to a PDF version of both parts this article about the meaning of the Reiki kanji, which I was asked to write for Reiki, Medicine and Self-Care (Pamela Miles) blog. This is being kindly offered as part of the 3rd anniversary celebration of her blog.

You are welcome to download it and print it out for yourself and/or your students but if you want to share it online, please post the link below, rather than the PDF article itself. Thank you Smile

The actual link is near the bottom of this page in the paragraph that begins: 'AS A SPECIAL GIFT...'
